CRANE-SUSPENDED COIL HANDLING
Custom-built coil hooks for your crane, coil dimensions and handling operation. From 3 to 50 tonnes, engineered around the load you need to lift.

A coil lifting C-hook is a below-the-hook lifting attachment: the lower arm enters the coil eye and supports the coil while the upper suspension connects to the crane. Also called a coil hook or C-hook coil lifter, it is specified around the coil weight, bore, width and available headroom.
STARKON designs and supplies custom C-hooks for steel coil and wire rod coil handling in ports, warehouses and industrial operations. Engineering defines the load path, suspension arrangement and geometry before fabrication.

Tell us the required working load limit (WLL), whether you need a 3-tonne, 5-tonne, 10-tonne, 20-tonne, 30-tonne or 50-tonne coil hook. Intermediate capacities and dimensions are discussed during engineering. This is a custom design range, not a list of interchangeable stock models.
The rating belongs to the individual design. A 3-tonne C-hook is rated for 3 tonnes; it cannot lift a larger load simply because other designs in the range can. The crane assessment also includes the attachment’s own weight.
| Design range | 3–50 tonnes WLL, according to the selected design |
|---|---|
| Configuration | Crane-suspended C-hook / below-the-hook coil lifter |
| Cargo | Steel coils and wire rod coils; geometry assessed per application |
| Dimensions and own weight | Defined per coil geometry, suspension and lifting duty |
| Quotation | Custom engineering and manufacture, price on request |
A capacity figure alone is not enough to specify a coil lifter. Coil width, eye diameter and centre of gravity affect the supporting arm and lifting position. Headroom, crane-hook dimensions and access around stored coils determine whether the attachment fits the operation.

Fork-mounted underslung coil hook ↗The STCH-15153T model supplied for a customer in Antwerp has a 3,000 kg WLL and a 430 kg tare weight. It demonstrates a specific STARKON design for wire rod coils. Its dimensions and rating apply to that model only.

For crane lifting, “coil hook”, “coil lifting hook” and “C-hook coil lifter” often describe a C-shaped attachment that supports a coil through its eye. Forklift underslung coil hooks are a different configuration; include the machine type in your enquiry.
Yes. STARKON accepts enquiries for custom C-hooks from 3 to 50 tonnes. The final capacity, dimensions and own weight are established for your coil geometry and crane interface.
No. It shows the delivered STCH-15153T wire rod model, rated at 3,000 kg WLL. Higher-capacity C-hooks require their own engineering and specification.
